New boss at Kendal arts centre
Miriam Randall moves from Watershed to Brewery Arts
Miriam Randall has been appointed as the new chief executive and artitsic director of the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal, Cumbria
She is the latest in a number of new appointments which will see the Brewery deliver its aim of becoming a flagship 21st century arts centre for Kendal and South Lakeland.
Before joining the Brewery, Randall was executive director at Bristol’s Watershed and had previous experience as executive director of Lighthouse, an international arts agency, and was a co-founder of Brighton Digital Festival. Before her move into arts management, Randall was a successful musician and events producer, delivering projects for Island Records, Rough Trade and Skint Records.
Claire Welburn, chair of the Brewery A trustees, said: ‘We are delighted Miriam Randall will be leading the Brewery. Miriam brings to us significant experience from across the arts as well as progressive digital knowledge. We are excited that she will lead the Brewery, ensuring it continues to play an important part in the lives of local people; whether this be through our cinema, enjoying the performance, visual arts and festival programme, engaging with our learning programme, or simply socialising in our building.”
Randall replaces Richard Foster who stepped down earlier this year, and Mike Jones who has become managing director of The Stand comedy venues.
