ACE publishes no-deal Brexit guide

Arts Council England has published a sign-posting guide to relevant government information to help arts and cultural organisations navigate a European exit without a withdrawal agreement.

The guide, which can be downloaded here, includes papers on EU funding for programmes like Creative Europe, the European Regional Development Fund and Horizon 2020. It looks at government policy on EU citizens’ rights or organisations employing EU nationals, the likely rules to travelling in tours, and the implications of moving works of art or instruments across borders. It also deals with the likely effects on copyright and intellectual property rights.

“It is important arts and cultural organisations are prepared for the possibility of a no deal scenario” said Laura Dyer, ACE’s deputy chief executive. “As the development body for the arts, museums and libraries we want to do all we can to help them do that.

“This guide puts all the current relevant government advice in one place and explains which might be relevant for different organisations. I hope it will help organisations decide what actions to take in preparation for a no deal outcome.”
