Drama graduates get West End showcase

Students from Drama Studio London’s (DSL) first BA course will get West End stage time before they have even graduated.

As they come to the end of the first three-year degree course at the 50-year-old drama school, a new partnership with the Soho Theatre offers them a showcase on March 6.

It will be followed by a showcase for DSL’s long-standing diploma course.

“Most of our undergraduate students arrived as raw teenagers and we have had the privilege of watching them grow over three years into skilled practitioners” said DSL’s managing director, Kit Thacker. “They brought talent and passion and we have added technique, professionalism and a joy in performance.  Projects are often spread across students from different courses, meaning there is a magical cross-pollination and every cohort benefits from the experience and energy of the others.  We have every faith in this cohort knowing how ready they are for whatever comes their way and that they will jump in and create wonderful work.”

The new BA in professional acting is in conjunction with De Montfort University, Leicester.

Soho Theatre will also be the venue in June for DSL undergraduates; first full new writing productions.
