Eva Langret to head up Frieze
Frieze announced today that its new artistic director is to be Eva Langret, currently head of exhibitions at London's Tiwani Contemporary Gallery.
She will work with Frieze global director Victoria Siddall, developing the London art fair’s strategy and liaising with galleries, directors and curators.
“The fair collaborates with the most exciting international galleries and I am delighted to support them in achieving their goals” Langret said. “I also look forward to widening Frieze London’s long-standing relationships with local and international artists, curators, collectors and art-lovers alike, and together celebrate the unique creative spirit of London’s diverse artistic community.”
She will start in November, after this year’s fair.
Frieze, a leading annual platform for contemporary art collectors and admirers, was founded as a magazine in 1991 by Matthew Slotover and Amanda Sharp, and the London art fair was launched in 2003 in Regent’s Park. Frieze New York was founded in 2012, followed by Frieze Los Angeles earlier this year.
