Ellerman Foundation names new chief

Sufina Ahmad moves from City of London.

Arts funder, the John Ellerman Foundation, has appointed Sufina Ahmad as its new director, succeeding Nicola Pollock.

The independent charity makes grants to the arts, environment and social action and this year plans make grants of £5.6 million, 25% of which will go to arts organisations.

Sufina Ahmed comes to the foundation from the City of London Corporation where she is corporate strategy manager. She has a track record in grant making from her previous roles with City Bridge Trust and the National Lottery Community Fund.

Hugh Raven, the foundation's chair, said: “Sufina is an outstanding candidate and the Trustees are very much looking forward to welcoming her to the Foundation in the new year”.
