Hall sisters in online Tempest
Two of Sir Peter Hall’s daughters, Jenny and Rebecca, are to join forces for an online reading of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
Jenny Hall (main image) is to direct the reading with Geraldine James taking the lead as Prospero and Rebecca Hall (below) cast as Ariel. The performance on Zoom is scheduled rfor 7.30pm on November 19.
“At a time when our theatres are closed and live theatre feels like a distant memory, I saw the opportunity Zoom gives us to present a live reading with a magnificent international cast, and where we can pass on the great skills of verse speaking to a new generation of outstanding young talents’ said Jenny Hall, who once played Miranda in a National Theatre production of the play directed by her father.
The production is part of the Shake Festival, a multi-disciplinary festival devoted to Shakespeare and founded in Suffolk last year. http://www.shakefestival.com
