Sarah Hopwood to step down as Glyndebourne’s MD
After almost 25 years at Glyndebourne Sarah Hopwood is to retire next year as managing director.
She has led the drive for greater audience reach and wider ranging productions, and oversaw the creation of Glyndebourne’s Production Hub, the charity’s biggest investment in 30 years.
Glyndebourne’s chairman, Gus Christie, said Hopwood, who was chief operating officer before becoming managing director in 2018, had been “an extraordinary driving force behind Glyndebourne’s success”.
She will stand down in autumn 2022.
