Ten Manchester music creatives offered £1k development packages

Manchester International Festival is offering £1,000 each to ten local musicians to help them create new work as part of its MIF Sounds initiative, launched last year at the height of the pandemic.

The ten will also get peer-to-peer support and networking opportunities for activities inclusing recording, presenting gigs, releasing records or starting new label imprints.

“MIF is committed to helping rebuild our sector following the impact of Covid in which tens of thousands of jobs have been impacted” said Jane Beese, MIF’s head of music. “We encourage everyone involved in the local music scene to apply, artists, technicians, promoters, venues, labels, managers and beyond we look forward to hearing all of your brilliant ideas and proposals.”

Applications for MIF Sounds should be submitted by video or in writing by midday on Thursday 16 December at https://mif.co.uk/get-involved/creative-development/mif-sounds.
