ACE launches freelance survey

Arts Council England has begun a survey of freelancers in the cultural sector to gauge the level of support that is needed.

Working with the University of Essex, ACE is calling for contributions from freelancers working in combined arts, dance, literature, libraries, museums, music, theatre and the visual arts.

"The creativity and innovation of freelancers play an integral part in fuelling the cultural sector and wider creative industries, and we’re really looking forward to hearing about your experience” said Michelle Dickson (pictured), ACE’s director of strategy at Arts Council England, addressing freelance arts workers who had a particularly hard time during the pandemic lockdowns.

“By taking part in this survey you'll be helping us to understand the opportunities and challenges that you’re facing, which will help us at the Arts Council develop better policies and advocate for a fairer and more sustainable future for workers across the cultural sector."
