Jenny Mollica to head ENO

Jenny Mollica is the new CEO of English National Opera, taking up her post immediately having been interim chief executive since Stuart Murphy stood down in August.

She will lead the company’s move to a new home in Manchester, while keeping its London base at the Coliseum and a London season.

Mollica joined ENO in 2020 from the barbican and Guildhall School as director of strategy and engagement and has been working on the strategic management, business planning, developing new partnerships and governance involved in forming the company’s Manchester future. ENO’s artistic director Annilese Miskimmon described her as a talented and supportive colleague and collaborator.

“Now, more than ever, ENO has a vital and unique role to play in the future of this extraordinary art form, and it is thrilling to be at the helm as we look ahead to this next act in the company’s life” she said. “I look forward to continuing to work with Annilese, the ENO Board and our exceptionally talented and dedicated company to shape and define this period of creative renewal for ENO, opening up new possibilities for opera in people’s lives in London, Greater Manchester and beyond.”
