RN Museum hit by cyber attack
The National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth has been the victim of a ransomware cyber attack.
The museum said the attack occurred on Monday, December 9, and was having a “significant impact” across its operations, though the museum, whose collections include Nelson’s flagship HMS Victory, remains open.
“We are working urgently with our partners including our IT provider, law enforcement, the Navy and the National Cyber Security Centre to fully understand the origin and impact of the attack and manage its effects” a statement said.
