Holburne’s Scott to take over at Dulwich

Dulwich Picture Gallery, the Britain’s first public art gallery, has appointed its first woman director.

Jennifer Scott, 37, who has run the Holburne Museum in Bath since August 2014 and who we profiled in April, will succeed Ian Dejardin in April. She led the Bath museum’s centenary celebrations, and in her short time there has been responsible for three critically acclaimed exhibitions. Most recently she identified a painting in the collection as by Pieter Brueghel the Younger.

Before that she was curator of paintings at the Royal Collection have worked at the National Gallery, National Museums Liverpool and the Queen’s Galleries.
